Late eighteenth century intaglio ring

Ca 1760-1820 sard intaglio ring. The carving of the gem is a really curious one, probably referring to a fertility ritual, but as yet I am puzzled to its origin. The ring was worn with two rings on either side and the gold is worn .

Measurement of bezel : 20 x 15 mm
